Dumpsite at Kitangiri

This area at Kitangiri B, Mwanza used to have many trees but they were cut down. Since they were cut people have been using the area as a dump. The area is uphill so when it rains the garbage water runs downhill polluting even more areas and a bad smell covers the area. Soil erosion has also occurred due to the rains washing away the soil. People who have businesses downhill from the dumpsite face challenges when it rains.
